| The Monelison Volunteer Fire Department is proud to highlight one of its newest members, Probationary Firefighter Natalie, whose dedication and willingness to take on any task has already made her a tremendous asset to the team. Currently enrolled in the Firefighter I training program, Natalie balances her classroom instruction with hands‑on support at the station. When she’s not studying, she can be found helping staff the department’s apparatus and contributing wherever needed. This week, Natalie stepped up during a weather‑related equipment change that required transitioning from the department’s “Onspot” automatic tire chains to traditional snow chains—a task that can be challenging even for seasoned responders. With guidance from one of the department’s Senior Firefighters, Natalie didn’t hesitate to get down on the floor, work under the truck, and learn the process firsthand. Despite it being her first time putting chains on a truck, Natalie quickly caught on. By the time the job was done, she handled the equipment with the confidence and competence of a veteran firefighter. The Monelison Volunteer Fire Department extends a sincere thank you to Natalie for helping ensure our trucks remain ready to respond—no matter the weather conditions. |
