On Friday, May 16, 2025, the Monelison Fire Department responded to two separate motor vehicle accidents dispatched just 12 minutes apart on South Amherst Highway.

At approximately 12:55 p.m., Monelison units were dispatched to the first accident scene. Engine 22, along with Chief 2 and Amherst Fire & EMS, responded promptly. While crews were actively managing the initial incident, a second motor vehicle accident was reported approximately two miles north of the first location.

Chief 2 cleared from the first scene and immediately responded to the second incident with Attack 21 and Utility 22. Both accident scenes were secured, and all involved vehicles were removed from the roadway by a wrecker service.

The Virginia State Police are currently investigating both incidents.
