| The Monelison Volunteer Fire Department proudly took home first place in a thrilling extrication competition held this evening at the Amherst County Fair. The event showcased the skill, speed, and teamwork of four local fire departments as they raced against the clock to safely extricate a simulated patient from a vehicle. Each team, composed of five firefighters, was tasked with stabilizing the vehicle, removing all four doors, cutting off the roof, rolling the dashboard, and placing the patient on a stretcher. The competition was fierce, with mere seconds separating the final times of all four teams.
In the end, Monelison Volunteer Fire Department emerged victorious, demonstrating exceptional precision and coordination. The final standings were:
