On the morning of September 22, 2025, at approximately 10:26 AM, Amherst County dispatched multiple agencies to a reported structure fire on Burford Farm Road.

Upon arrival, Amherst County Fire personnel observed smoke emanating from the right side of the structure, specifically from the eave area. Chief 2, E23, S21, and T21 from Monelison Volunteer Fire Department responded promptly, alongside apparatus from the Amherst Fire Department.

Firefighters made entry and quickly located the source of the fire—a light socket in the attic. Thanks to the swift and coordinated efforts of the responding crews, the fire was extinguished rapidly. Damage was confined primarily to the light fixture and its immediate surroundings, preventing further spread and preserving the integrity of the structure.
