Monelison Fire Department Brings Fire Safety Education to Temple Christian School Kindergarteners

The Monelison Fire Department visited Temple Christian School Friday to teach kindergarten students about fire prevention and emergency preparedness. Senior Firefighters J. Saren and S. Mays, along with Probationary Firefighter R. Trimble, arrived in Squad 21 and showcased Drone 21 during the interactive event.

Students were invited outside to explore the fire department’s equipment and learn essential fire safety tips. The highlight of the visit was a live drone demonstration, where children were thrilled to see themselves on camera from above.

“Our goal is to make fire safety fun and memorable,” said Senior Firefighter J. Saren. “We want children to feel confident and know what to do if there’s ever an emergency.”

The Monelison Fire Department encourages parents to reinforce these safety lessons at home. Children should:

Know their street address
Understand when and how to call 911
Have a designated safe meeting spot in case of a fire
Recognize the sound of a smoke detector and know how to respond

This outreach is part of the department’s ongoing commitment to community education and fire prevention.
