| During a cold night of station staffing at the Monelison Volunteer Fire Department, Senior Firefighter Jay Saren took a moment to relax in the day room after returning from the frigid weather. He wasn’t the only one looking to warm up.
K9 Maxa, from the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office, stopped by for a visit—and quickly found the perfect spot to get cozy. As seen in the photo, Maxa decided Jay’s lap was the ideal place to thaw out and settle in.
Jay, who has four dogs of his own at home, is no stranger to becoming a canine pillow, and he welcomed Maxa’s company without hesitation.
K9 Maxa also asked us to pass along an important reminder:
With the extreme cold temperatures, please bring your pets indoors to keep them safe, warm, and protected from dangerous weather conditions.
We’re grateful for our partnership with the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office and always happy to share a little warmth—especially with our four‑legged friends. |
