| Monelison Volunteer FIre Department is proud to announce the installation of new David Clark wireless headset system in our newest Squad truck—an upgrade that significantly improves communication clarity and operational safety for our members.
Over the past year, our Squad truck has proven to be a valuable asset to our station. However, its powerful diesel engine—one of the largest in our fleet—created challenges with hearing critical radio traffic inside the cab or hearing each other. After extensive research and discussions with other departments, we identified David Clark wireless headsets as the best solution to ensure clear, reliable communication in even the loudest environments.
The installation was expertly completed by New London Tech of Lynchburg, and the results were immediate. Upon the truck’s return, several of our members tested the system, and the reaction was unanimous—WOW!
The headsets deliver exceptionally clear audio quality, and their VOX (voice-activated transmission) technology virtually eliminates background noise, including the sound of the running engine. This allows our crews to communicate effortlessly with one another and with dispatch, ensuring safer and more efficient operations during responses.
