| Amherst, VA – On March 25, 2025, at approximately 4:00 PM, the Amherst Fire Department was dispatched to a car fire on Kenmore Road. Upon arrival, Amherst County Fire and EMS personnel found the fire threatening a nearby residence. Consequently, a county-wide alert was issued, upgrading the incident to a structure fire.
The Monelison Volunteer Fire Department promptly responded with Engine 21, Tanker 21, and Chief 2. While en route, command downgraded the response, but requested Monelison Fire Department continue their response. Upon arrival, Monelison Fire units collaborated with the Amherst Fire Department to conduct minor overhaul and cleanup operations.
The swift and coordinated efforts of both departments ensured the fire was contained and the residence was protected damage was mostly contained to the attached car port. |
