Madison Heights, VA – On April 27, 2025, at approximately 11:03 AM, the Monelison Volunteer Fire Department, along with several local agencies, responded to a house fire on Stapleton Road. The dispatched units included Monelison Fire Department Engine 21, Tanker 21, Chief 2, Amherst Fire Department, Pedlar Fire Department, Amherst County Fire and EMS, and Gladstone Fire Department.

Upon arrival, the first engine found the single-wide mobile home fully engulfed in flames. Despite the severity of the fire, there were no injuries reported. The firefighting efforts required approximately 4,000 gallons of water, which had to be transported to the scene by multiple tankers.

The Monelison Volunteer Fire Department extends its gratitude to all the responding agencies for their swift and coordinated efforts in managing the incident. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
