| The Monelison Volunteer Fire Department has officially begun trial testing of a cutting-edge drone software platform designed to streamline operations and improve efficiency during emergency responses.
Traditionally, when the department’s drone is dispatched, personnel must manually record flight logs, battery levels, and mission details—tasks that consume valuable time and resources. In an effort to modernize and automate these processes, the department has selected **DroneSense** for a pilot program.
“After researching several platforms, we chose to demo DroneSense because of its proven track record with public safety agencies across the country,” said Sr. Firefighter J. Saren. “The software automates critical functions such as location tracking, battery monitoring, pre-flight checklists, and even autonomous flight using pre-programmed search patterns.”
During today’s initial testing, several of the department’s drone pilots evaluated the system and reported highly positive results. One standout feature is the ability to stream live video directly to any mobile device, allowing real-time situational awareness for command staff and field personnel.
Once a mission is complete, all flight data can be seamlessly exported to the department’s reporting system or submitted to the FAA upon request. This automation not only improves accuracy but also frees up personnel to focus on mission-critical tasks.
The Monelison Volunteer Fire Department is excited about the potential of DroneSense to enhance its capabilities and looks forward to further testing and evaluation in the coming weeks. |
